When we meet to pack and mail on 7/15, we will assemble as we always do, set up to pack, then turn the floor over to Jenny Albrecht to make presentations of Quilts of Valor to two of our veteran TRN members.

Quilts of Valor, like Springfield Cares - Soldier Mailing, Inc. grew out of a dream by their founder of providing comfort and healing to service members needing and deserving such comfort.

Quilt of Valor have a set of criteria and rules for nominating service members and veterans recipients of said quilts. 2 of our TRN members have been nominated, and will recieve their quilts at our mailing on the 15th.

Jenny has been a long time quilter, and along with other ladies, some of which are members of TRN, meet regularly as a group to sew their quilts. While the ladies make a lot of different quilts for various reasons, Jenny chose to focus their skills on the QOV program to honor our two Veteran recipients.

Our two organizations are similar in mission, but differ in approach, they make and award quilts, and we pack and ship goodies. All in support of those who are or have served.

So in recognition of these awards, we will share our venue on the 15th support Quilts of Valor as they recognize and award these two fine gentlemen. I don’t think we will be significantly delayed by sharing the time slot, but I’m sure we will all appreciate the sentiment and acknowledgment
